The Process
The Alot Hashachar journey was meticulously and professionally developed as a structured process to accompany the team from the time of their initial application through to a positive return to routine. The process begins with an introductory meeting online with staff representatives. We learn your unique story and match you with a professional facilitator who will accompany you throughout the process. Thereafter, we get together in Israel for a big preparatory meeting. This meeting gives us the chance to become more acquainted and create a foundation for the rest of the process.
The main part of the process is the journey abroad to Greece with five days of disconnect, relaxation, and deep work in a supportive, positive, and healthy environment. We stay in a sea villa or a cabin in the mountains. The process concludes with a final meeting in Israel, approximately a month after we return, where we will reflect on the process we have undertaken and examine how we have assimilated our journey into everyday life.
Initial meeting on Zoom
After the team applies for the journey, a meeting is scheduled with selected staff members to ascertain the unique needs of the group and to match them with a suitable facilitator. The meeting is a chance to get to know the group’s story, to talk about the journey, and to determine suitability.
Following the initial meeting and the selection of a suitable team facilitator, the facilitator contacts the participants for individual talks and initial acquaintance.
Participation requires that at least 80% of the team take part in the journey, and a fee of NIS 1,500 per person. (Refunds are available from the Ministry of Defense for reservists.)

Journey Abroad
Our journeys take place from Sunday morning through Thursday evening. Accommodation is in a villa by the beach in summer, or a mountain cabin in the winter. Participants on the journey will process significant events together, receive tools to cope with various events occurring in their daily life, and be exposed to a variety of activities designed to strengthen personal and team resilience. The trip ends on a Thursday evening to enable a calm and easy return home with the approach of the weekend, and to ensure time to absorb the experience and gradually adjust to the return to routine.

Preparatory Day in Israel
After the initial introduction to the facilitator and filling out of forms, we meet for a preparatory meeting. The meeting takes place in scenic surrounds and lasts 5-6 hours. The purpose is to get to know the facilitator and assistant who will accompany you throughout the journey. Here, you will hear in detail what to expect and you will receive the itinerary and program schedule. You will also be given the chance to express your own expectations at both individual and group levels, and raise any concerns you may have.

Concluding Meeting
About a month after returning home, there will be a concluding meeting, which is divided into two parts:
Discussion and a unique experiential activity to conclude the process.
In the first part, the team will once again meet with the facilitator for a talk about which aspects of the journey have been assimilated over this time, what has arisen while transitioning to routine and homelife after the journey, and a glimpse into the future recalling the tools at our disposal.
In addition, we give the team a unique, empowering experience to conclude the process. The team and facilitator select the activity to suit the team’s unique needs and nature.
Activities offered at the concluding meeting include the following:
-
A healing experience in an Indian sweat lodge, which involves a body and soul cleanse, a renewed look ahead towards the future, reinforcing team cohesion, and connecting to your inner power.
-
Immersion in an ice bath to strengthen physical and mental resilience, learning breathing and relaxation techniques, and strengthening psychological wellbeing.
-
A baking workshop and shared food preparation: a comforting bonding experience that will fill the body and soul with a creation of food prepared together.
